The Anderson and Ainslie families both originated in Scotland.
Charles Anderson, our great-grandfather on our father's side was the first Anderson to move to England, and his son, Henry Darley (our paternal grandfather), moved to Belize as a young man. That is where our dad, Charles, was born. Dad's mother, Henrietta, was from Corozal in British Honduras (now Belize), and was the daughter of Carlos Orio, a Belizean of Mexican descent, and Aurelia Ramirez.
My mother, Flora May Ainslie was born in Kamehill, Scotland. Her parents were Violet Calder and James Ainslie and she was the oldest of their 3 children. Her two younger brothers were John and James.
To complete the circle back to Scotland, Dad was stationed in Scotland during the war and there he met Flora. Flora was one of the thousands of WW2 war brides. She left Scotland in 1946 to mary Charles in Belize.
Flora and Charles have five children. The four oldest were born in Belize: Denis, Pat, Marilyn, and Helen. Their youngest daughter, Linda, was born in Trinidad. Dad also has a daughter, Elizabeth Ann, with Alma Hulse. Elizabeth was also born in Belize.
This site is for the children of Flora and Charles and their cousins to explore their ancestors and descendents while keeping up to date on the latest births, marriages and other important current family events. It is also a place to upload family photos to attach to a person on the family tree and to store family contact information. Please take the time to explore its many features and enjoy. All members may update their immediate family's information and upload their own pictures. I would love it if guests sign in to my guest book which is at the top of this home page.
Thanks.
Helen
